History

Our Chorus was organized in September of 1960 or 1961with Sweet Adelines International. The name was Bountiful Chorus.

Our first director was Turk Evans. He was part of The Evans Brothers. Next director was Bob Brock. Bountiful Chorus always placed First in Region competitions and in the top ten Internationally and took 4th place twice. Bountiful Chorus went to London International in 1977 - what a thrill!

Because the Chorus members were from across the Wasatch Front (Ogden to Spanish Fork to Park City to Grantsville), we decided to change our name to Mountain Jubilee Chorus (MJC) in 1989. We also changed our association from Region 12 to Region 8. The Chorus, Mountain Jubilee Chorus continued to do well, placing 1st or 2nd in our new region every year we were eligible to compete. Tori Postma was our director for 35 years.  Beth Bruce was associate director for much of that time, and eventually became co-director with Tori.  In 2016 Tori and Beth both retired, and Stevie Dougdale became the director, followed by Jennifer Taylor in 2019

In 2022, the chorus voted to change the chorus name to Wasatch A 'Cappella Chorus.  May 2023 brings a new name and a great refresh!
